Lets see, she
1. was here illegally
2. was convicted of shoplifting.
3. Drove without a license.
4. Had unpaid driving fines. (Bet she didnt have driving insurance either).
She had her delivery in a hospital which automatically assures adequate care for the child (paid for by the good citizens of Maricopa county, i should add).
As long as the pregnancy is uncomplicated, a woman is perfectly capable of delivering with a leg shackled. In no way does that put her at risk of complications.
Yes it would have been humiliating, but whose fault is that?
Articles like this are published primarily to sway public opinion in favor of illegal aliens and amnesty. Judging by the responses I am impressed who effective they are.

I like where you are going. I am with you
yes, we are definitely expecting a response and thats why we are stating the timeline.
At minimum, we definitely need to higlight with details as to how USCIS is playing with us.
Nobody can predict whether we will get a response or not. But, we definitely need to satisfy ourselves that we fought till the last.
2 or 3 years back, nobody expected IV to achieve anything. Look what IV has achieved today. It only happened through relentless protests.
During July fiasco, everybody was resigned to getting their 485 files returned back. The force of IV protest made the reversal.
I am confident that with lots of protests, USCIS will churn out a few approvals in the last week of September. At least, guys who got RFE can expect something. I am not one of them, though, as my file has not been picked up at all. that is a different issue.

Hi Guys.. need someone to answer my question, if possible. Thanks in advance.
My PD is Sep 2004 ( EB2 India ) and I was also July 2007 filer, and also the victim of my 485 being closed by USCIS nebraska in May 2008, which anyways got reopened within a month after supplying necessary documentation ( Approved I140 and moved to new company etc ) . I work on an EAD now. My question is
1) My AP is expiring in mid October. Should I file for a AP renewal and spend extra money ? Do I have a chance of getting GC in September ? Btw I was told last year at USCIS newark, NJ office that all the background checks and other things show clear on my case.
2) I moved my apartment 2 blocks away early this year, but my city and zip code are the same. If I file an AR11 ( change of address ) , will it raise any flags, since I have read on this forum that a change of address sometimes prompts an RFE. I am a bit scared of going through ups and downs, so I just feel like not doing anything which might create any kind of issue after so many years of pain.
Please give your insight. Thanks so much in advance !

People who are going to benefit by this will support this. Others oppose.
I believe you belong to latter.
One thing to remember is this provision helps STEM grads irrespective of their EB-class.
legal speak: right now law does exist. F1 to GC would be illegal. This provision is to make the conversion legal
plain speak: look beyond your own situation. Since you are not going to benefit directly, does not mean you stand against it.
Lastly, everybody's parents don't have so much money like you think. People do get 13% student loans in India to fund their studies.
Changing F1 to GC law to make it legal has as much chance as getting law change to not include dependents. I would rather support the latter then support F1 to GC law change
I do look beyond my own situation and thats why i support current spillover rules and filing 485 without current PD issue even though it does not help me directly in any way what soever and if fact is dterimental to my EB3 case.
Can you say the same ? C
Can you support an argument to give 50 k dv visa to badly retrogressed category irrespective of preference category?
Fact is You are the one who cannot see beyond your own selfish needs and you are accusing me of the same thing you are doing
As far as i know the whole MS F1 visa is a big scam and loophole to enter us and stay here when you are not supposed to and that is the loophole that needs to be closed first instesad of worrying about fruad porting and EB1 fraud. Closing thsi student GC loophole will clear up the whole EB retrogression mess

Just an idea, if someone can spend some time near the office videotaping flower arrivals, we can do a piece on youtube. It can potentially get more media attention if the media does not catch up immediately.

how does this information will make IV a great success?
Thanks for sharing the news buddy. You are a great immigrant.
Suggestion to all IV member: I hear Sean Hannity saying, "You are a great American" to the callers who shares his beliefs. I think we should start saying, "You are a great immigrant" to our fellow members who are sharing news or putting in extra efforts to make this organization and our cause a success.

I need to add my daughter's last name to I-485 and subsequent AP. Do I still need to have US court order for doing the same once her passport has correct last name ? How much time does the US court order take and what is the cost ?
Please share if anyone have experience adding the last name with USCIS and how long does it take ?

Granted Native Americans were here first but at that time America was just a land inhabited by people and it was not a nation. A nation is defined as having the following characteristics (These are UN definitions)
1. Has space or territory which has internationally recognized .
2. Has people who live there on an ongoing basis.
3. Has economic activity and an organized economy. A country regulates foreign and domestic trade and issues money.
4. Has the power of social engineering, such as education.
5. Has a transportation system for moving goods and people.
6. Has a government which provides public services and police power.
7. Has sovereignty. No other State should have power over the country's territory.
8. Has external recognition. A country has been "voted into the club" by other countries.
So America was never a nation before it became America.
Regarding you second point about Columbus, Christopher Columbus was not here look for a promised land, he and other pioneers were here to find trading opportunities. Get your history straight, India was known for Spices and Gold at that time and the pioneer wanted a piece of it. Now India has nothing to offer, other then a piece of its humongous population.
Regarding your points about, starting a company, I have already answered them before
Perhaps, we could ignore you. Perhaps we could ignore your ignorance. Perhaps I could abuse you like you did. Perhaps. But I wont. Because I feel sorry.Perhaps you've been a loser your whole life and need to blame someone for your hard knocks in life. But that isn't the point. Perhaps you've forgotten, that the original Native Americans are called 'Indians' for a reason, because a certain Chris Columbus lost his way(he was no Pilgrim believe me)...while trying to find the 'then' promised land!. . Perhaps you've forgotten that 6 out of every 10 companies started in the last 15 years was by an immigrant. Perhaps you've forgotten that the Governor of the most wealthy State in the Union is an immigrant..... I could, perhaps go on...but I wont. Because I have to thank you. Thank you for stirring us up. Thank you for motivating us to action. Stirring up those of us who have been in a deep slumber.....we'll prove that we do matter and that we DO HAVE WHAT IT TAKES.
Thanks brother.:)

I am not trying to question the dedication of the folks here, but I have not see any plans or goals set for this year.Is this because of election year?
The site has become one more forum site to discuss personal issues and to vent out our immigration frustrations. We seem to be losing momentum on the larger effort of Visa Recapture or even looking forward for any new bills? Well even if we consider that there would be a change in white house, doesnt the senate and house still be intact with the members.
Does IV work with CompeteAmerica or any Lobbying group which could help us with direction?
Just my thoughts for the day.

sweet_jungle, can you please update your first post of this thread with directions on what we need to do and within what timeframe?
All people affected by USCIS blocking approvals for current people, lets get organized.
This time USCIS is hiding by not making official announcements.
We need to act as we did last July.
Lets send letters to congressman like zoe lofgren.
NSC is issuing frivolous RFEs as delaying tactics.
I am not seeing similar outrage as we saw last year.
