As you may know, we are just one more week away from hosting Advocacy day in Washington DC where about 170 members of Immigration Voice will conduct nearly 250 meetings with offices of Senators and Congressmen. Such events cost money. If we have enough contributions, we can spend as per our budget of nearly $ 50,000. If not, we will have to cut back on the event spending and reduce the magnitude and size of the event.
If you are not coming to DC next week, please do your part and contribute funds to Immigration Voice. It not only finances the event properly, it instills pride and confidence in the members who will be there in DC that there are thousands of willing supporters behind them who could not be there physically but are 100% with them in their determination and resolve.

1) Google Ads are a must. When bloggers with 50-60 visitors make good deal of money out of it. IV with 25,000 members can definitely make much more, without any investments. Providing direct advertising opportunities to Immigration Attorneys, Law firms, Employers is also a good idea ( how ever they may demand IV curtail criticism coming from members !)

Anti-immigrants can not be able to pick on this, because Retrogression will worsen all these things. Those people will continute to work with those desi consulting companys irrespective of the fact that they have GCs or not, because they cannot stand on their own feet.
If the retrogression goes away then people with good skills can move freely in the market and will be more readily available to the market. In fact that would harm thse companys big time. It is not fair to expect a member to contribute the moment he joins. It takes some time to understand the impact of GC problems and get a good feeling about IV activities. IV can not post its activities on forums. You will be surprised to know that anti-immigration organizations are well organized.
However, we have numerous members with 50+ posts and 3+ month of membership with no intension to contribute $20 (you will not get 2 Indian Buffet's in Washington DC for $20; it takes $4 (metro up) + $4 (metro down) + $4 (parking) everyday to DC).
I (and other members) have literally begged some of these members. One particular member says (s)he is going back to his/her country but starts posting abnoxious messages after a few weeks.

i dont think they are hiding any numbers from EB3 ppl..thay are just following the rules book to the letter...
and since only one group of ppl are affected..they dont want to take the pain of fixing the immigration mess...4-5 years is a normal lag for ROW and non retrogressed nations...

information of Freedom of information act..specified..you can get ur dose of reality check if you want...
instead of that you can be more proactive and support IV campaings!

A very sensible post. You dont need to have ur life around the GC and Priority dates. You need to do what u want to as much as within ur limits.. But one thing is USCIS can be staright forward and say EB-I wont move for such and such time and people can still plan better... :)

My earlier H1 which was approved 1 year ago has been re-opened today...This is the status I see on USCIS web-site

High time this bill is passed. Too much fraud in L1s and H1s.Existing H1s dont have jobs and our green cards pending and no hope when it will come. They should really make L1 very very hard because I work in a huge wireless company where they get L1s from companies like TCS and they work 15 hours a day with $25 billing rate, because of which all contractors and permenant workes (on H1, GC, EAD etc) are being laid off

For all practical purposes, the date on which it was recieved is your RD=> Receipt Date. The postmark date has no relevance except for records unless USCIS explicitly states so ( which it did once in 2001 http://www.uscis.gov/propub/ProPubVAP.jsp?dockey=89a5f3cee754ad0499e55e731191f 360).
485 filings are strictly Receipt date. I am still searching for the uscis link and will post one as soon as I find one.

How did you send an email to TSC streamline? My case is at TSC and we are half done...primary approved and dependent pending...told biometrics issue by lawyer thru AILA but as far as these forums go biometrics don't hold an approval otherwise I won't have been approved. i guess we carry the curse of transfered cases...mine was TSC-CSC-TSC
