Understood. Now you want all H1 L1 B1 everything to be stopped. So lets vote only for EAD/AP/GC till you get your GC. After that US should stop GC also, right? (but ofcourse, naturalization still should remain open for a few more years).
If one person can work for your job at $8/hr, and you are charging $100/hr, market would adjust itself to $8/hr (for a moment forget about who does this $8/hr, it can be a high-school kid, or anybody).The only reason why somebody blames that $8/hr kid for loosing his job is because he "thinks" he is "superior" to that kid. There are many situations where companies decide to retain "fresh college grads" and layoff "senior experienced" persons, to save money.
Don't take me wrong, but I also think the L1 is mis-used a bit. But I personally think the mis-usage comes from other factors (like H1 unavailability, employer prefer L1 because employee cannot change to another employer in L1, other H1 restrictions) etc..

More, I think the angle to look at H1 / L1 misuse is wrong. If any misuse / abuse is happening, that is because of improper address to labor situation. Rather they made everything employer dependant, gave employers full change to misuse / abuse the H1 and L1 category and the real solution to the issue - work force is paying heavy price of idiotic visa policy.

Guys , I think this issue has been discussed lot of times.
1) USCIS do not allot immigrant visas, It is alloted by DOS.
2) DOS needs a fix in the current EB laws to capture unused visa.
3) I am not sure if we can push any change in law, given the current Iraq war quagmire.
But I hope they speed up the overall application processing times, with all the increased Fee money they will get from July 30th (by investing money on IT).
Not sure USCIS keep up their promise with a large volume of applications. I came to know from immigration-law.com site that, 750,000 applications(yes,i'm talking about I-485) will be filed in this one month period. So, I'm really scared to imagine something good with such large volume.
We should fight for recapturing unused visas and EB visa reform.
Otherwise, we dont know how many more years we have to wait to get GC.

Hi Folks,
I know that with a deluge of applications, the question I am asking might not be relevent in the current scenario (July filers), but what is the historical EAD processing time? I know they say that USCIS will issue one within 90 days, but does it always take 90 days or is lot lesser?
I remember when I got EAD during OPT, it took like 30-40 days on average. Does the same hold for the EAD for EB too?

He contacted his senator to get the total number of pending EB apps for India.
Please see the response from the senator in the following link. It has pending applications by category.

We advice not to use this template and form. The message and the organization sending it for their advocacy agenda is very important. Even if you change the wording, people will hardly read the letter. They will look at the organization that sent it and its agenda.
It is better to call or email your senators and congressmen with a personal message. When there is a need for a fax campaign, IV will activate its fax campaign system here http://immigrationvoice.org/index.php?option=com_iv_webfax&task=getContactDetails&Itemid=46
If you email or call your Congressmen or Senator, do tell them that you are a member of ImmigrationVoice so that their office can make the connection to your calls, meetings and emails in our advocacy meetings. Another point to note that in person meetings have much more effect than emails. You may get a standard reply to your emails. Sometimes the response may talk about a general immigration position of the senator rather than a specific reply to your question.
BTW do not quote any bill # yet. If you want to talk about Recapture, just say recapture of unused visas for Employment based category.

Also I am curious to know why IV has not put up a fax campaign for the same - given that this issue is clearly the focus on much of the IV agenda. Finally, I would think that while it is important to campaign directly to those in the know and power, as IV does and encourages members to do, there is something to be said for the strength of numbers. And one of the many ways IV can demonstrate that strength is not just to quote numbers in lobbying efforts but also to display direct interest of members and indeed non-members via faxes sent. IV Core and Donor Forum - some response from you would help us understand the path being pursued here.

just curious to know what is the reason that 22 people till now didn't vote for the question ... what do you think could be the reason ...
